Services / Refrigerant Analysis
Know the gas before you spend
Our on-site laboratory tests refrigerant against the AHRI-700 panel — the same analysis we run on every reclaimed batch, available as a standalone service for gas still in your system.
01The panel
What the AHRI-700 analysis measures
AHRI-700 is the purity specification refrigerant is sold against. Testing your gas against it tells you exactly how far from spec the system has drifted — and why.
| Parameter | Reported as | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Moisture | ppm by weight | Water in the circuit — the driver of acid formation, ice restriction, and corrosion. |
| Acidity | ppm by weight | Acid from compressor burnout or oil breakdown. High acidity can damage a replacement compressor if contamination is not addressed. |
| Non-condensables | % by volume | Air and other gases that never condense — the usual cause of unexplained high head pressure. |
| High-boiling residue | % by volume | Oil carryover and decomposition products left behind when the refrigerant boils off. |
| Chlorides | pass / fail | Chlorinated contamination — a marker for the wrong gas or decomposition in the circuit. |
| Other refrigerants | % by weight | Cross-contamination with a different gas. Mixed refrigerant behaves unpredictably and cannot be topped off. |
02Why test
Test before you repair
A replacement compressor installed into acidic or mixed refrigerant is a warranty claim waiting to happen. One analysis settles the question.
After a burnout
Acid and moisture from a compressor burnout stay in the circuit. Analysis confirms whether a cleanup was sufficient before the new compressor goes in.
Before topping off
If the existing charge is cross-contaminated, adding more gas compounds the problem. Analysis tells you whether to top off or recover and recharge.
03When to test
Straight from the field
Common situations where testing can help identify a refrigerant problem.
Took over an account
Inherited a system from another vendor? Test before you top off. You have no record of what the last outfit put in the circuit — one sample tells you before their shortcut becomes your callback.
Not pulling temperature
System isn't pulling temperature like it used to and nobody can figure out why? Send a sample. We'll tell you if the gas is fractionated — a blend outside its specified composition can affect system performance.
Selling recovered gas
Before you price a load of recovered refrigerant, know what you have. The analysis up front tells you what the cylinders actually hold — no surprises when the load is graded.
04How it works
Three steps to a lab report
No lab account needed. Request a kit, pull the sample, read the results.
Request a sample kit
Tell us the system and suspected problem. We supply the sample cylinder and instructions for pulling a representative sample.
Pull and ship the sample
Your technician draws the sample and sends it to our Santa Fe Springs laboratory — or drops it off at the warehouse.

We run the AHRI-700 panel and report the results, so the repair decision is made on data instead of guesswork.
