Services / Refrigerant Banking
Your refrigerant, banked until you need it
We take in your recovered gas, reclaim it to the AHRI-700 purity specification, and bank it on our shelves under your name — certified, documented, and shipped back on demand.
01The program
An account, not a disposal
Recovered refrigerant is an asset. Banking turns it from cylinders in a back room into certified, documented inventory you can draw on — or trade against.
Your gas, under your name
Recovered refrigerant is reclaimed to AHRI-700 and stored on our shelves under your name until you need it. It stays your asset — we just hold and document it.
Available on demand
Banked refrigerant ships when your job needs it. No hunting the spot market at service time — the supply is already yours, certified and waiting.
Credits toward other gases
Banked pounds can serve as credits toward other refrigerants we stock — turn a gas you no longer run into the one your fleet needs next.
Built for chiller retrofits
Ideal for chiller retrofit programs — legacy fleets running gases like R-11 or R-123 — where the recovered charge itself funds the comeback.
Contract-backed custody
Every banking arrangement is contract-backed with full chain-of-custody documentation: certified weights at intake, laboratory certification, and records that follow the gas out the door.
Compliance-ready records
Certified scale weights, AHRI-700 batch analysis, and documented transfers give you a defensible paper trail for your EPA records.
02Process
From your system to your shelf account
Four steps, each weighed, certified, and documented — the same chain of custody that backs everything we handle.
Recover / receive
We recover the charge at your site or receive your cylinders at our dock. Every pound is weighed on certified scales and logged to your account's chain-of-custody record.
Reclaim + certify
Your gas is reclaimed to the AHRI-700 purity specification and verified batch by batch in our on-site laboratory before a single pound goes on the shelf.
Banked under your name
Certified product is stored in our Santa Fe Springs facility under your name — your inventory, on our shelves, documented pound for pound.
Redeliver on demand
When a job calls for it, we ship your banked refrigerant where you need it — with the batch documentation following the gas.
03Use case
High-rise chiller fleets banking R-11
The clearest fit: building portfolios running legacy centrifugal chillers on gases that are no longer produced.
Consider a portfolio of high-rise buildings running dozens of centrifugal chillers on R-11 — thousands of pounds of charge per machine, and limited replacement supply. Every service event, retrofit, or decommissioning recovers gas that is difficult to replace and too valuable to lose track of.
Under a banking agreement, each recovered charge comes to us, gets reclaimed to AHRI-700, and goes on the shelf under the owner's name. When the next chiller in the fleet needs service, the certified gas is already theirs — shipped on demand, with documentation intact. The recovered charge from one machine funds the comeback of the next.
The same structure fits any fleet on a sunsetting gas: banked refrigerant can support future service work or an agreed credit toward retrofit refrigerant. Storage, testing, withdrawal, and credit terms are set in the banking agreement.
Typical banked gases
Banking can help manage legacy refrigerant inventory. Acceptance, storage, and redelivery depend on the gas and customer agreement.
Banking agreements are written per customer — quantities, gases, redelivery terms, and credit arrangements are set in your contract.
